Catwalk Copy…

Cassie, Tracee and Malinda Williams all rock the Diane von Furstenberg 'Kipper' Blouse in their own style

I’ve received 5 emails from readers asking me where to find the shirt Tracee is wearing with her pencil skirt in the 'Just Pencil Me In' post below. I couldn’t find the exact cut as the ladies above, but I did find the a shirt with the same print (Diamond Confetti) at Nordstorm. It costs $198, but see below for some cheaper alternatives in red, much like the other 'Kipper’ shirt Diane von Furstenberg showed during her Fall 2006 runway show.

Twenty8Twelve…

Sienna Miller and her designer sister, Savannah announced last week that they’re going to start a label together called ‘Twenty8Twelve’ (Sienna’s Birthday). I’m excited about this because I actually like Sienna’s style, although its been a little off lately. She doesn’t have a stylist like most celebs so you know what she wears comes from her own creativity. Plus her sister Savannah has freelanced for Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, and Betty Jackson. I can’t wait to see what they come up with! Read more about it here.

Flower Power!

Beyonce Knowles attends the Giorgio Armani Go Red for World AIDS Day at the Giorgio Armani Store on Madison Avenue last night in New York City.
Kerry Washington (in a Valentino dress) arrives at the National Dream Gala to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Groundbreaking earlier this month in Washington, DC.
Tracee Ellis Ross at the Coach's Legacy Collection Launch Party.
Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson pose backstage during the 2006 MTV Movie Awards at Sony Pictures Studio earlier this year in Culver City, California.

I failed to find photos of celebrities wearing floral prints that weren’t dresses, but you get the idea. Floral prints can be retro (Kerry), peasant (Tracee) or even brocade (Rosario and Beyonce) but whatever you choose they all add a twist to your look. Take it to the next level and mix ‘n’ match prints to create an ultra eclectic look. Find the print that works for you and go for it!

Note: Check out Tracee Ellis Ross' personal site!

My Picks!

Left to Right: Land Top, $88, www.frenchconnection.com; Satin Floral Babydoll, $17.80, www.forever21.com; Asian Floral Kimono Top, $10, www.wetseal.com; Solarium Surplice, $178, www.anthropologie.com
Left to Right: Behnaz Sarafpour Brocade Skirt, $39.99, www.target.com; Multiprint Skirt with Embroidery, $1265, www.brownsfashion.com; Mara Skirt by Elie Tahari, $448, www.neimanmarcus.com; Juliet Bubble Skirt, $34.50, www.delias.com
Left to Right: Newlin Dress, $33.99, www.gojane.com; Kimchi & Blue Floral One Shoulder Dress, $88, www.urbanoutfitter.com; Floral Print Charmeuse Dress, $284, www.shopbop.com; Printed Silk Dress, $1292, www.bergdorfgoodman.com

That dress from Urban Outfitters is H.O.T! I’ve also got my eye on that bubble skirt from Delias and that dress from ShopBop.com. Any type of print dress or skirt looks great team with black tights so go ahead and rock those minis!

Style on the Go...

UNICEF Ambassador India.Arie attending the Third Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball at Cipriani's 42nd Street on Tuesday in New York City.
Ashanti appearing onstage during MTV's Total Request Live at the MTV Times Square Studios on Tuesday in New York City.
Cassie arriving at the Fendi party celebrating their new line of bags "B.MIX" which will be released in the spring/summer of 2007 at the National Stadium last night in Tokyo, Japan.
Paula Patton attending the Touchstone Pictures world premiere of "Deja Vu" at the Ziegfeld Theatre last week in New York City.

I had no idea India Arie had been appointed the position of UNICEF Ambassador… Congratulations to her. She looks fantastic in this dress. She wears long evening gowns well. Read more about her UNICEF role here.

Ashanti is making the media rounds to alert people that she’s still alive! She made stops at MTV’s TRL and Sucker Free Sunday as well as 106 & Park all on the same day. She looked great and I loved her hair, although that quiff is a little passé.

Paula Patton is fast becoming the next black A-lister actress. I’m glad too, because I sometimes get a little fed up of watching films starring Gabrielle and Sanaa, as much as I love them. Here she is at the “Déjà vu” premiere which I must watch it soon. I wonder why she never walks the red carpet with her husband Robin Thicke?

Finally, Cassie is sticking to what she does best and that’s looking good on the red carpet. Whilst I wish her skirt was a bit longer she’s working the whole look to perfection. See more pics of Fendi’s B.Mix bag here. I love the silver one!

Get Funky!

Above and below are pieces from www.elsewares.com
Whether it’s for you or your home, there’s nothing like finding the perfect accessory. My personal style has always veered towards ‘classic,’ but every once and a while I’ll shake things up a little and throw on a funky piece. As a die hard fashionista it’s always nice to have strangers come up to you and ask ‘where did you buy that?’ I always tell them too, I have friends who have a ‘no share’ policy, but I don’t mind sharing the secrets of a great find! Anyway here is a fun online site called Elsewares, they have plenty of funky accessories. They also stock home furnishings at very reasonable prices. Also check out these other sites below…
