Paper doesn’t get the accolade it deserves. Whilst I’m still not convinced that it could defeat ‘rock’ in a one-on-one, that hasn’t stopped jewelry designer Dana Ayanna from making it her material of choice. Using a bead rolling technique passed down from her Trinidadian great grandmother, Dana combines vintage magazine paper with stained bamboo, gold, silver and bright colored beads to create a collection inspired by the cultures of the Caribbean, India and South Africa. Dana’s design aesthetic marries urban flavor with a flirty twist; her line is perfect for brightening up our winter wardrobe. Visit her newly launched site @ www.artisticaya.com and ignite your appreciation for paper.
