When I was in college, I remember taking a color theory class in which we learned that colors opposite on the color wheel work well together. This always puzzled me, because I HATED red and green at Christmas time, it was just so potent. In fact, I always decorate with an alternate color theme for Christmas, black and white, red and silver, etc. But today when I added this dress after the sweater to the shop and their photos were right next to each other, I started thinking that they could look good together in the right proportions. And though I wouldn't recommend wearing these as an outfit, I think the photo of the room below them is lovely example.

Block Party Show & Owls Galore!
We had a show over the weekend and it was a lot of fun. Here's a few photos!
I recently came across an estate that had a large collection of owls, I just couldn't pass up these cuties! We sold out of the little ones at the show. Owls seem to be the trend that never ends, I wonder how long they will be popular?
Even Ruby was shopping, she got this adorable little scarf, which I bribed her to wear by offering her a chip if she let me put it on her.
My sister Amy helped me out at the show which was such I treat! It was so fun spending the day with her!

Coming soon...HOUSEWARES to Seed
I used to sell vintage housewares in my online shop because I love interiors about as much as I love fashion, but it was just too difficult to store and ship them, so I retired the idea for the time being. After chatting with Tara at Seed People's Market, where we currently sell clothing and accessories, we came to the conclusion that I should sell vintage housewares there too. So, I am in the process of unearthing some lovely things from the garage and getting them ready for the store. Here are some of the things you will be able to find at Seed by the end of the week!
There are six in each set of the glasses shown, I could only fit two of each in the photo.
Ceramic owl and creamer set. It has a matching tray that I already packed up.
Mad men style glass set with rack.
Some great vintage books, including Plato's Republic from 1924, and two ceramic birds.
A petite candelabra and two little trunks.

Blog Sugar
I went to a great event this last weekend called Blog Sugar, where over 50's bloggers from Southern California (and even a few from beyond I think) got together to connect and share what we do. As usual, I brought my camera, took a few photos at the beginning and then forgot about it. I'm really just more of the person that is in the midst of all the happenings and conversations, not the one who enjoys observing. So these are what I got, live with it. :) Rachel, lovely Blog Sugar host and friend has a super vintagey cute house and I always come home with a few ideas from her, so I snapped a few shots of it and what we were eating. I had a great time catching up with my fellow mommy/business owner friend Whitney. She always makes me feel encouraged that I am not alone in my struggles. Also, I'm hoping her son Silas marries my daughter someday, he is so cute!
