Project Runway contestants, Kara Saun and Zulema Griffin are best known for their roles on the show, but they actually had successful careers before the show aired. Zulema Griffin began her career as a model featuring in magazines such as Bazaar, The Face, I.D., and Essence. She later attended the prestigious Parson's School of Design where she began training as a designer. Kara Saun was a costume designer for UPN's 'Eve' and was called upon to create the “new” look for Queen Latifah for her talk show, as well as designing the Queen’s 2000 Academy Awards red carpet gowns.
