Project Runway contestants, Kara Saun and Zulema Griffin are best known for their roles on the show, but they actually had successful careers before the show aired. Zulema Griffin began her career as a model featuring in magazines such as Bazaar, The Face, I.D., and Essence. She later attended the prestigious Parson's School of Design where she began training as a designer. Kara Saun was a costume designer for UPN's 'Eve' and was called upon to create the “new” look for Queen Latifah for her talk show, as well as designing the Queen’s 2000 Academy Awards red carpet gowns. The Babydoll Dress Redefined...

Ever since I saw Chloe Dao’s winning collection on Project Runway, I’ve been trying to find a similar babydoll dress (left). For those of you who watched the show you’ll remember that this dress was the 13th piece that each contestant had to make in the final 12 hours before the runway show. I absolutely love it! I especially love the attitude you can give when wearing dresses with pockets… Speaking of Chloe, if you’re wondering what she’s been up to since she won, she’s just about to show her latest collection in her hometown of Houston.
