Faves From Gilt's Final Sale For Handbags

Since I've been on a handbag binge (bought three handbags this yr when, as far as I know, I can only use one at a time) . . . here are my gilt sale faves:

(1) Bill Blass Bow Henry Tote
Retail: $425
Gilt: $99
Material: Tumbled Leather (whatever that means)
Length: 16"
Height: 10"
Width: 6.5"
Drop Handle: 8"

Big, roomy, classic, and girly . . .

(2) Bill Blass David Satchel
Retail: $395
Gilt: $99
Material: Tumbled Leather (supra)
Length: 13"
Height: 7.5"
Width: 7"
Drop Handle: 7"
Removable Strap Drop: 13"

Looks like the bby version of the former.  A poopier, more milk chocolatey brown.

(3) Moschino Cheap & Chic Leopard Satchel
Retail: $546
Gilt: $59
Material: Fabric, Leather
Length: 14"
Height: 13"
Width: 5"
Drop Handle: 8"

Leopard.  'Nuff said.

(4) Jil Sander Elongated Clutch
Retail: $995
Gilt: $129
Material: Hardwick Snakeskin
Length: 10.5"
Height: 4.5"
Width: 1"

A bit pricier than the rest, for what it is, but how pretty in pink.  Reminds me of lipstick.

(5) Gryson Ava Shoulder Bag
Retail: $795
Gilt: $99
Material: Leather
Length: 13"
Height: 15"
Width: 4.5"
Handle Drop: 7"

I remember when I first ran across Gryson (must've been prob 4-5 yrs ago) and saw their bags on sale for $200 on their website (linked) (doesn't look like their website is really functional anymore) . . . I *almost* bought it, but still felt it was a bit much.  I even contemplated getting their Target line, but PVC doesn't sit well with me.  Can't believe they go for $100 easily now . . .

A -- 12/25/10: First of all, MERRY X~MAS!!!!!

Okay so onto the serious stuff: Is it possible that I am more cheapo now than you?!?!  I tend to view all Gilt pricing as inflated now; I think I wouldn't want to pay more than $60 for any of those bags!!!  (and honestly would probably prefer to keep it under $50 incl. shipping)  I mean, if you can get a severalthousanddollar retail bag for under $100, then these -- Bill Blass?  Gryson? -- should be faaaar cheaper.  (granted these are NWT, but still, I probably f*ck up my stuff to the point of needing repair in about a week, so it makes so very little difference).  Dammit T, I blame you partially for my descent into the icantbuyanythingeverythingmustbefurtherreducedbyhalf approach to shopping!! =P

ps.  I do love the color of the pink tho, but would prolly not care about getting snakeskin/suchquality for a less "classic" color

T, 12/26/10:  LOL, I love how the bags are more serious than christmas, and dude, maybe you are more jew now!!!  Prob would've bought Gryson had I not accumulated so many bags this yr, and, if I could think about it longer (stupid Gilt and having so many things sold out so quickly).  Thought $100 was a fair deal for that!

Alexander Wang Khaki Canvas Vest Dress

Material: 98% Cotton; 2% Elastane; 100% Rayon Combo

Retail: $583
Gilt: $121

Okay, back in undergrad, I shamelessly showed off my bellay every chance I could (one of my exes told me his friends called me "halfshirt."  Yes, I was/am embarrassed).  And I love A.Wang (not just because of his name, tee hee), but c'mon now . . . this is just blatant and classless.  It reminds me of a Simpsons episode, where Homer was cloned, and the only diff between OG and clone was clone lacked a belly button . . .

A -- 12/25/10:  HAHAHA omg I love it!!  Halfshirt, that is brilliant hahaha!  The dress, obv, hideous.  We must find a pic of some celeb(utante) wearing it to add to this post.  Although that would worry me much, as it may indicate the beginning of yet another uggo trend that will sadden me every time i see it.

Gilt: Ever Woven Montgomery Shirtdress

Size: M
Material: 91% Lyocell; 9% Hemp
Price: $109

Love this dress!  Love the elongated slv openings, the squaretop w/the vneck, the crispness of the white, the clean shape w/the defining belt, the heavier material, the vaguely RobinScherbatsky-ish feel of the model/look, just love!  Can't wait to wear this walking along the beach w/the fam over X~Mas!

T, 10/28/10:  YAY, CONGRATS!!!  Very good choice; like that the material is thicker and white isn't see-through.  Very versatile dress!
