Price War: Diane von Furstenberg Monir Dress

Original Price: $385

theOutnet:
On sale for $192.50

Ebay (Buy it Now):
$159.99 (free S&H)

Not as extreme a deal, but theOutnet only has size 0 left, whereas there are listings for pretty much every size (certain sizes are a little more expensive, around $170 I think)

Price War: Diane von Furstenberg Milton Dress

Original Price: $495

theOutnet:
On sale for $198

Ebay (Auction):
Ends January 22, 2011; 12:23PM PST/3:23PM EST
Current Bid: GBP10.00 (~$15.98)
6 Bids
S&H: GBP13.99

Same issue -- the listing uses the pics from Net-a-Porter/theOutnet, so you'd have to ask for pics of the actual dress, but that small effort is def worth it at these prices.  I would bid if this were the nude version, which I have been looking for for almost a year now.  It is part of my DVF Spring 2010 dress trifecta: Nil dress in falling anatolia, Milton dress in nude, and Mademoiselle X dress in that floral print that I bought last year =)

Price War: Alexander Wang Cutout Ponte Dress

Original Price: $560

theOutnet:
On sale for $252

Ebay (Buy It Now or Best Offer):
$150 + $5 S&H = $155

The only thing I'd be concerned about here is authenticity, bc the seller does not have a huge amnt of feedback, although the feedback he does have is all positive.  I'd say asking for pics of the realdeal would suffice, and offer (for a normal person, aka not me) around $100, to end up around $125.

I wonder if I will be posting a lot of pricewar stuff from now on - I really just randomly happened upon these and realized what a gyp buying retail truly is these days.

T, 1/17/11:  the cutouts, and it being a.wang, are the only things that make this dress acceptable.  And I'm not even sure about the cutouts.  I want to love it, but for some reason, I don't.  I think it looks like it's trying too hard, though I bet if I saw you wear it in person, it'd be uber hot.

A -- 1/20/11: To clarify - "pricewar" posts are not necessarily items that I personally want (if I do, I will specify in the post).  They are just things that I've come across on diff websites/stores, and found a distinct difference in price, that I want to throw out there/record for future reference.  The end.

Price War: Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Silk Colorblock Dress

Original Price: $200

theOutnet:
On sale for $50 (just sold out)

Ebay (Buy It Now):
Size M (slight waterstain at the bottom that can be cleaned): $18.82 + $8.60 S&H = $27.42
Size L (NWT): $29.75 + $8.60 S&H = $38.35

Seriously?  This was still available on theOutnet yesterday.  There is no way I could buy something these days without first checking Ebay, so who are these people missing out on ACTUAL saleprices??

T, 1/17/11:  dude, for the eBay price, why not?  Turquoise doesn't look bad on anyone.  Nice.
