A Peak Inside Our Booth at Unique LA

The weekend was fantastic at the Unique LA independent design and gift show!  We had a booth selling our restored vintage clothing as well as our redesigned jewelry.  I had two wonderful helpers, Meghan and Kassi, thank you so much!  Also, big thanks to Jonathan Holden of J. Holden Designs for helping me unload all of my merchandise and fixtures when I got to the show.  Thank you to Sonja Rasula and the rest of the Unique LA team for putting on a great show! And last, but certainly not least, thank you to all my beautiful customers who allow me to spend my days hunting for new treasures.  For those who couldn't attend, here's a peak at my booth.  I sold so much, my poor online shop is in desperate need of restocking!

Mimosa Salon and a Traveling Sale idea

Last Friday night Salvage Life was invited to set up a little shop inside Mimosa Salon in Hermosa Beach, CA for their annual customer appreciation night.  Rose, the owner, has been a SL customer for years and it was such a treat to share this event with her! 

One of the girls at the show asked me an interesting question, she wanted to know if I did parties, you know, like Pampered Chef or Mary Kay?  I hadn't ever really thought about it, but it sounds kind of fun.  How would you feel if I rolled up to your home with a rack of vintage clothes and trunks full of bags and jewelry?  Would you invite your friends over to drink champagne and shop?  Just a thought...

Shop Salvage Life this Friday at Mimosa Salon!

This Friday Night, January 21, 2011, we are partnering with Mimosa Salon in Hermosa Beach to bring you an evening of complimentary salon services, drinks and shopping.  The owner of Mimosa, Rose, has been a long time customer of Salvage Life and when she asked me to do this event with her, I was thrilled.  She has a beautiful salon with lots of room to set up a cute pop-up shop!

Stop by before you head out for the evening, it goes from 5pm to 7pm and the salon will be offering complimentary brow shaping, mini styles, polish changes, goody bags, drinks and more.  Salvage Life will be selling clothing, accessories and jewelry at prices lower than online.

Hospital Recovery SALE

So, I took last week off to go on a couple of short trips with my family and I ended up in the hospital with an appendicitis.  We had a nice stay in the mountains at a friend's cabin and on the day we were planning to come home, I woke up at 3am in terrible pain.  After getting home, I spent some time at Urgent Care and the ER before being admitted to the hospital and having surgery.  The worst part is that a good friend of mine from high school got married on Saturday with a beautiful vintage style wedding and I wasn't there. :(  I had helped her find coordinating vintage ties for her nine groomsmen and was anxious to see it all come together as well as celebrate with her and many other friends I haven't seen in a long time. Thanks for all the well wishes for those who read my tweets from the hospital!

I got home yesterday and am feeling ok, but I don't expect much to happen around here for a bit.  I am hosting a bridal shower this coming Saturday for my dear cousin, so I will be putting what little energy I have towards that.  In the meantime, I have significantly marked down summer items in my shop to make room for fall, (is it really that time already?) so that should keep you busy.  There are 40+ sale items and they are up to 75% off!  I am also hoping to get another giveaway going this week, we'll see how it goes.

Patchwork Show on Sunday!

Salvage Life will be at Patchwork Show in Santa Ana, CA this weekend.  I am really looking forward to the show!  I haven't put in a ton of extra work this time around because I am trying not to be a complete stress case like I usually am at shows.  I am just planning to bring what we have in the online shop as well as some new items and everything will be 25% off.  We will also have A TON of, it's actually really out of control, vintage in the $10 trunk.
