Sooo, new (Chinese) resolution to blog more?  I'm drawn to this -- pink, maxi, long sleeved, belted, vtg.  What a throwback -- saw that Adele Simpson was well respected from the mid 1940s to the 1970s, with Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, and Barbara Bush donning her apparel (ehh, not exactly fashion icons, but first lady = classy, right?!):

The nightgown factor I can deal, but my biggest concern is that it's too big, and with nary a tailor nearby, I'm wary to acquire.

A -- 2/5/11: Yenno, I actually kinda like this one!  Despite its prairiedress mormoncompound oregontrail vibe, something about it is appealing.  Maybe it's the piping detail on the front, or the pinkishmauve color.  HOWEVER, I feel it would engulf you unless altered in some way, and not just in a "shorten/tighten" way, but a more fundamental change that I can't put my finger on.  

ps.  Yah those are not exactly the best of the FLOTUS options when it comes to style.  Actually, they might be the absolute worst.  Babs was just, horrifying, even for the 80s.  Patty I don't know much about, but the woman was married to trickydickie, that is clearly a sign of bad taste.  And Mrs. Johnson? I'm sorry, but anybody named LADYBIRD is just a GIANT red flag.
