Forever 21 Foldover Pants

Size: XS
Material: 95% Cotton; 5% Elastane

Price: $9.80 x 2 pairs + tax = $21.51

Source: forever21.com

I know, I know, considering how much I've bashed f21, I'm definitely eating humble pie when I bought not one, but TWO pairs, of these pants.  I came across these when f21 announced it was donating a day's worth of sales to help jpn.  So I browsed, was impressed by the cheap $9.80 price tag, realized I needed to replace my pj pants (which have copious holes), and went to the nearest f21 once I had some free time.  Website doesn't have the dark gray I bought.

I think f21 is good for ppl like you, who have an innate sense of style and can mix and match well.  Otherwise, for ppl like me, I get overwhelmed by all the choices and will most likely walk out with something uggo.  At least with nicer, simpler brands (e.g. theory), 75% of the time, it'll be something classic/classy I can't f* up.  But ehh, for less than $10, I can't complain.

Inspiration: Flares from theSartorialist

Damn.  I've been on the fence about getting another pair of flared jeans, since I have my pair of darkgrey J Brand Lovestory ones, but pics like these are really nudging me over the edge.  I'm a lil unsure about the style's staying power, but then I guess this really proves that fashion repeats itself every other decade or so - I remember when they were EVERYWHERE in jr high/high school in the '90s, almost 20 yrs ago (ugh).  The only downside is the requirement of skyhigh platforms to be worn w/the jeans - I still have not mastered the art of skyhighs worn in casual daytime settings.

sidenote: How effing awesome are all these outfits?  The coat in the first one, the loosely tucked in drapey white shirt in the last one, and EVERYTHING in the middle one (the bag, the scarf, the chains, the fur…le sigh)

Traveled to four places:  (1) REI, which had awesome help but was overpriced and had very little options; (2) Sports Authority, where I bought the bulk of my items and was decently priced with sales but very poor help;  (3) Big 5, which had very little options but well-priced items; and (4) Sports Chalet, which had a good amount of stuff, not as much as Sports Authority, but was on the whole pricier.

Had to finish purchasing everything in one night because I'm getting a haircut tmw and we leave Fri.  Glad I didn't drag OG or YB, who offered to help me accumulate my gear, to any of these places, given my jewishness and need to check out ALL my options before being satisfied.  Though, they prob would've helped with the biggest time suck, which was trying to fig out what to buy, although REI saleslady did a decent job explaining.

Debating if all of this is necessary (namely, the underarmor stuff, which OG can't wear because he's pudgy and it restricts his breathing, tee hee), but ehh, I might as well . . .

And, of course, tks, A, for answering my frantic texts of which jacket to get and what gloves to buy. :)

Lesson learned?  I am a ten year old boy.

A -- 1/18/11: A very nice snowbunny outfit, I approve T!!  Sigh...snowboarding = <3

Forever 21 Quilted Leather Leggings

$22.00

Not real leather, not real warm, I would be much more excited about these if not for my finds of a lifetime in the same trip.  They actually look/feel/fit decent, so I'm happy.  I think I am FINALLY getting on the leggings/tights bandwagon after my first (extreeeeemely delayed) shortsovertights experience at the beach last week.  Yay?

T, 1/5/11: kind of pricey for leggings, and f21 for that matter, but I guess since they're decorative, it's okay.  Glad you lurve leggings!!!  They're waaay better than jeans, and allow us to continue wearing our [butt length] dresses/skirts into wintertime.

Fuse by Preen Leather Pants

Size: 10
Length: 31"
Material: 100% Leather (New w/defects: missing button)

Starting Bid: GBP24.99 (~$40.34), 0 bids
S&H: GBP10.50
Ends: November 10, 2010; 9:30AM PST (12:00PM EST)

It's just. So. Hot.  I know I don't need this at all, esp since I have my MK blk pythonprint leggings/pants that look very similar to this, but this is realleather!  I totally want leather pants, although this is a relatively new fantasy.  I guess Fuse is the cheapo version of Preen, but still, for all leather, this is a good price, and the button can easily be replaced.  Not sure on sizing, may be UK size, I will msg and ask seller.  These days I kind of just wanna BUY stuff, to hell w/practicality and inventory.

T, 11/9/10: my fave GSI on whom I had a MAJ crush -- we're talking stalking (purposeful visits to the cafe where he set up ofce hrs 3x a day + ppl texting/calling me when they saw him) -- used to wear leather pants.  Which is one of the few reasons why I think this is awesome-o and fully support your search for leather pants.  I wonder how comfy leather pants are, though.  And what a bitch to clean.

Retail: $670 (NWOT)

Have you ever heard of this brand?! Why the hell is it so pricey . . . I google'd, I see they're sold at Barneys and Saks, and their shoes all seem to retail for $1k+ . . . insane.

A: I've "heard of" the brand in the sense that I've seen it being sold both online and in stores, never checked out the clothes tho.  Looks like it'd fit u pretty well tho.  Is it NWT?  If so, I'd max out around $70 (altho since you can't try it on, what're u gonna do if it doesn't fit?  Can you go try on her pants at a store first?).  Not NWT, then max $45-$50 - it's pants, ppls' crotches have been rubbing up on it.

T: Haha!  I don't mind used pants -- ppl wear underwear, right?  I mainly uploaded this to ask you if you've heard of the brand because $670 trousers boggles my mind . . . is the quality THAT much better?  Plus, with a 32" waist (I know it sits low, but still), I can prob slip in and out of them without unbuttoning.
