BCBG Dark Ink Navy Stretch Pencil Skirt

Buy It Now: $25.00
S&H: $6
Ends: May 26, 2011; 12:50PM PST (3:50PM EST)

Was about to buy it now since total would just be $1 more than my max, and I was scared someone would snatch it quickly given how "high" my last navy bcbg went (linked) went. Then, I saw the 3d pic . . . looks kind of funky, and could be a little short.  Asked seller for total length.  Patience is a virtue . . . I hope.

Update:  seller replied that total length was 19" -- just like my blk bcbg bandage.

T, 5/26/11:  snuck to bathroom to bid $25.01 on my phone during work lunch outing -- dude, the bid takes a while to go through.  Won at $16.49 as the second bidder.  Patience IS a virtue.  Glad this isn't silk, so hopefully that means I can just handwash.

A -- 5/27/11:  Aww congrats!!!  Totally hot, decent price, can't wait to see u try the navyskirt/flowywhiteblouse combo we discussed!

T, 5/31/11:  A little loose, actually . . . but looks acceptable.  Vanity sizing, you are the bane of my existence.

Good for work or play.  Nice neutral color.  Hoping no one'll bid because it's XXS, and not XS.  Max at $40, total?

A -- 5/3/11: Hot!!  I see this w/a flowy white silk blouse or cami, loosely tucked in.  And stilettoes - 4" of course =)  It's so modern 80s, I love it!

T, 5/5/11:  Happy f*ing cinco de mayo.  $46, 8 bids.  More than I wanted to spend . . .

Starting Bid: $19.99, 0 Bids

I'm surprised I haven't blogged about this since I've been more or less eye'ing this since summahtime of 2010.  And I know I said, after seeing the skirt in person, that it felt cheap and was oddly shaped, but measurements work out well, and I'm okay with $30 for "cheapy" skirt.  I wouldn't go above starting, but who knows if it'll stay that low.

T, 5/2/11:  $26, 8 bids.

BCBG Black Pinstripe "Nelly" Halter Vest

Size: XXS
Bust: 28"
Waist: 26", tie waist
Length: 15.5" from neck strap to front middle
Retail: $136 (NWOT)

Starting Bid: $6.50
Ending Bid: $7.50, 3 Bids
S&H: $3
Ended: April 13, 2010; 6:30PM PST (9:30PM EST)

Winning!  Been wanting a vest for a while, but could never find one with the right measurements/that fit right.  Since this is a tie waist, it has to fit no matter what.  I think nyex's rag & bone vest was tie too.  Used my paypal groupon, so I'll consider this bought at $7 for our savings list.  Google'd around and found this retailed at $136 at bcbg.com, at one point.  Not one of my most practical or useful buys, but for $7, what the hey.

A -- 4/21/11:  Matching vests!  I have the exact same vest, BCBG "Nelly", except mine is all black, bought at a BCBG store in Kansas City Thanksgiving 2006.  Ahh memories.

BCBG Black Printed Ruched Dress

Length: 35"

Starting Bid: $86.60, 0 Bids
S&H: $7.80
Ends: February 11, 2011; 3:00PM PST (6:00PM EST)

Not to get all Keanu, but when I first saw, I was like, "Whoa . . . "  I've never seen anything like this.  It's what Harvey Dent/Two Face would be if he were a shirt.  It's hot, and like you said, it resembles art.  Wouldn't bid for it, esp at current price, because I'll never wear it . . . but it's nice eye candy.

A -- 2/9/11: Yah, not sure if this is better looked at or worn...might just be interesting to look at, and not look all that great on.

T, 2/11/11:  Ended with no bids.  Not really surprised.

Hips: 34"
Length: 60"

So Ginger from Gilligan's.  Would totes rock this in NY, where no one would stare since the hipsters/gays/real fashionistas easily outshine this, but don't have the balls to do it here.  Too bold.  Seen it on eBay for a while now, and no one's bitten the bullet.  It's a sexi maxy. :)

A -- 1/23/11: Aww I actually don't love this!!  I think for a leopard maxi, I'd want it to be of a lighter fabric, less dense looking, maybe something chiffon-ish, w/thinner cami style straps rather than these wider straps.  When I saw this, I thought more "70's porn" than "current chic".

*KNEW* if I waited long enough, one of these suckers in a sz xxs and, just as importantly, in a neutral color would pop up (though my fave in this style was a dark navy, sz m).  Trying to convince myself that this "mocha" is better, though, since:  (1) I prob have some weird attachment to the dark navy solely  because it's the first neutral I saw in this style, aside from blk; (2) dark navy is too close to black of which I have too much; (3) this color is more season-versatile, whereas dark navy is more appropriate for only fall/winter; (4) for some reason, I associate navy with what flight attendants wear; and (5) although this isn't my fleshtone, I've always liked fleshtone colors.  Would like to pay no more than $40, but eBay has made me so jew that I know I would've snapped this up super quickly in the past . . . should I push aside my unrealistic expectations and just buy?

A -- 11/7/10: aaahhh I like everything except the color!  It just seems like a weird in btwn color, you're right, I wish it were lighter.  I would say max at $50 since free shipping, but then you've wanted/looked for a long time.  Altho I must say, it's dangerous to buy something after you've had to "convince" yourself to, esp when it's not like a ten buck dress like the Nell couture one.  Part of me says you've been searching so long, just get it!  But the other part of me says, you've already waited so long, might as well hold out for your ideal.  Haha I'm really no help on this one!

T, 11/7/10:  dude, so I added this to my watch list in the morning today.  In the afternoon, it shows up as "ended," and "relisted," and now has a new end date of November 17, 2010; 4:00PM PST (7:00PM EST) . . . I'm guessing someone bought it so auction ended, but seller has more than one so s/he relisted afterward.  So I check for completed listings, and yeah, it shows as bought.  Maybe that means I should buy.

T, 12/20/10:  saw this dress in person, being sold for $57.  Should've tried it on in person, but it was already so unappealing on the rack, and I was under a timecrunch, that I didn't . . . I'm REALLY glad I didn't buy this online, now, because I would've been uber disappointed when I received it.  Shirt dresses might be one of those items I have to relegate to "reality," as opposed to online, shopping . . . and actually try it on.

BCBG Black Leather Skirt

Size: 0

NWOT

Starting Bid: $4.95, 0 Bids

S&H: $7.74
Ends: November 23, 2010; 8:55PM PST (11:55PM EST)

Omg . . . blk leather skirt!  Good waist/hip measurements; only prob might be length.  Dunno if I trust any tailors here to shorten it.  Incredible price . . . do I buy it now, or hope it stays low?!  Decisions!

A -- 11/17/10: Good price, good brand, good material.  You're right about length tho, and that would def take some skill, since you'd not only have to shorten it, but also then tighten the new bottom hem, which would seem to require a reworking of the entire pieces of leather.  How many views has it gotten so far?  I'd say based on degree of post-purchase work needed, to wait it out and try to get it for lower than the buyitnow price.

T, 11/23/10:  Ended at $37, 13 bids.  Didn't bid for it.  Can't tell if I grew less excited because I had 6 days to mull it over (thanks eBay); or if it's because I just bought the Joie maxi today, curbing my itch to buy (which was more or less, as you said, an impulse buy where I couldn't really think it through); or if I realized that its length would be annoying.  Kind of sad, but I def think I'll get more use out of the maxi in the long run, because I'll eventually get grossed out by all the fart fumes trapped in the leather, knowing it can't be washed easily.

BCBG Beige Skirt

Size: XS

Starting Bid: $25, 0 Bids
S&H: $5
Ends: November 26, 2010; 8:05PM PST (11:05PM EST)

I totally admit several items in my wardrobe are the exact same thing but in diff colors, including, but not limited to: (1) two YSL scarves, one in gray, one in white; (2) two Portolano scarves, one in blk, one in pink; (3) two Benetton dress shirts, one in blue, one in pink; and (4) two Uniqlo tights, one in gray, one in black.  I remember I showed you my black BCBG bandage skirt, bought from Loehmanns in fall 2008, for $60 -- it was my first work skirt that actually fit instead of hanging oddly off of my hips and hitting awkwardly waaaay below my knees.  I held off on buying another one in gray, because I felt retarded duplicating my wardrobe yet again.  I eventually ended up with a gray Pencey I adore.  But, I tire of my search for a skirt in beige/brown/tan . . . so now that I've run across this, even though it's a duplicate, I'm thinking this is good enough.  It's a little pricey for used, but I know it'll fit, and I know it's good.  Max at $30, sans S&H?

A -- 11/22/10: I like it!  The color looks hot, altho I'd ask for another pic in more normal lighting, cuz the warm lighting could be skewing things a bit.  I def think diff color repeats are totally fine, I've done that in the same purchase bc I couldn't decide (BCBG tops in cream and green, cashmere cardis in black and white, even f21 dresses in peach and grey).  A lil pricy for not NWT tho, I guess $30 is okay given that you know it is the ideal fit.

BCBG Brown Pencil Skirt

Size: XS

Starting Bid: $21, 0 Bids
Buy It Now: $30
S&H: $4
Ends: November 13, 2010; 11:40PM PST (2:40AM EST)

Emailed seller re: (1) material; (2) measurements (length, width, hips); and (3) pic of tag.  Assuming everything works out, should I buy-it-now or wait for auction to end?  My only hesitation in waiting to bid is based on my stalking/tracking of the bcbg bandage hotpink skirt -- it rarely sold at the buy-it-now price when listed (ranged from $50-$80), but now, in auction form, it's at $30, with 16hrs to go, so it may easily sell for $50+.  If end result is the same, might as well buy-it-now.  I know, I know . . . this is incredibly boring, but it's practical, and I'll wear it a lot, so I might as well.

A -- 11/11/10: Yah it's kinda dull looking, not just in style but the color, it looks faded or something...but maybe it is supposed to have that effect.  Honestly I wouldn't have maxed out at more than ten bucks for this, but you seem to really want it.  Is it NWT?  bc if it's used too, then it's REALLY not worth it.

T, 11/11/10: Damn, seller just emailed back info:

Size:  actually S, not XS
Material: 65% Rayon; 30% Nylon; 5% Spandex
Waist: 26"
Hips: 31"
Length: 22"

Poleci 25" waist was already pushing it, no way I can do 26."  Glad I asked, def pass on this.

BCBG Wrap Dress

Material: 100% polyester
Bust: 34"
Length: 43"

Starting Bid: 0 bids; $49.99
S&H: $8.95
Ended: October 24, 2010; 10:15AM PST (1:15PM EST)

OMG color!  OMG wrap dress!  Supposedly from "studio wardrobe", who knows.  This was actually relisted after it ended w/no bidders for the same price previously, kind of annoyed they didn't lower the price.  Am loving the color/print, but my bodyshape is kind of hitormiss when it comes to wrap dresses.  Also, is the length to old/mature?

T, 10/21/10:  LOL, don't like BCBG wraps, actually, when it comes to fit.  For some reason, they make me look pear shaped . . . there really is something about the cut/style/material of a DVF wrap that makes it better.  Otherwise, looks good in all regards (incl length!), but yeah . . . beware of the fit.

Lovelovelove this one . . . it's similar to my red one you reminded me I had, lol.  Too much for work though?  Prob not the most comfy either since it hugs everything tightly; I'd feel really conscious in it too.  In any event, way too much, esp since it's not even silk.  Btw, is all the gray making the blog too drab?

A -- 10/17/10: Is it the lighting or the mannequin that's making it look kinda yellow?  It's nice but the gray makes the bandageness look kinda...bandage-ish.  As in hospital bandages, not sexylookhowtightmydressis bandage.  Also YES for the love of god BUY SOME COLORFUL STUFF.  (As I typed this, I checked my ebay watch list and see like 4854793857 black faux/real fur jackets on there.  And one white one)

T, 10/17/10:  LOL, how come everything looks yellowish to you?  Said the same about an anthro lacy beige skirt I linked you previously.

A -- 10/17/10: Maybe I have yellow eyes...from being a yellow person.  Gross.  But look at the first pic!!  Doesn't it look significantly more yellow than the second??
