The Jeffrey Campbell's That Didn't Make the Cut...

I bought these Jeffrey Campbell shoes for my brother's wedding thinking that they might create some much needed contrast with my ultra feminine vintage bridesmaid dress.  They ended up not having quite the right look, but they have been getting good use in other outfits.  Take this everyday outfit for example: I took a lace camisole, paired it with a long thin sweater that I tied around my waist.  I cuffed my jeans and threw on a necklace from my shop.  If you have any suggestions of what else these shoes would go well with, please share!  You can expect a later post about what shoes I did choose for the wedding and other ones that didn't make the cut.

Born to Thrift ~ A letter about my beginnings

My Mom recently told me about how she had been reading through a box of letters that she found at my Grandparents house when they passed away.  She had written the letters to my Grandma when I was about Ruby's age (2). It's pretty funny because my Mom had taken me to thrift stores and flea markets at that age, just like I do with Ruby.  I hadn't realized that I started living the Salvage Life so early on.  In this letter I got a dress for 50 cents and a top for 10 cents!  I guess that was before "old" things were such hot commodities.  I acquired some beautiful things at the flea market yesterday, I will share some photos tomorrow, have a nice Monday!

Rummage Sale Loot

I went to a church rummage sale last week and came home with a bunch of things I don't need and I am very happy about it.  There are only a few things in life that bring me more joy than finding some amazing worn in leather work boots for 50 cents.  I had Ruby with me which was an adventure, just like writing this post as she crawls back and forth across my lap.  :) She wanted to get out of the stroller which was perfect because I repurposed it into a shopping cart and loaded it up with vintage slips, gloves, shoes, lace, 50's birthday napkins, vintage jewelry boxes, an etched glass pitcher and much more.
