Rachel Roy

I think I'm Rachel Roy's new #1 fan. All of her spring dresses are light, airy, and perfect. Yesterday I tried on tried on the silk dress at the top, and could kick myself for not buying it.

Vintage for Patients

My husband works at a high school where they do a Pennies for Patients fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. They are really good at coming up with creative ways to fundraise and I wanted to jump in on the action. A good friend of mine from high school had Hodgkin's Lymphoma a couple of years ago, so this is close to my heart. From now until March 12th, Salvage Life will donate 10% of sales to Pennies for Patients on top of the 10% of proceeds we are currently giving to orphaned children in Uganda. Thank you in advance to all of you who make purchases!

Bon Voyage!

This photo featuring a Salvage Life dress is on the Harvey's site right now! You can still buy this dress in our Etsy shop.

To my friend Spring,

Please come visit soon. I would love to wear some of these outfits from Anne Taylor Loft, but can't do so until you arrive.

Preorder Orbit G2 Now

Preorder your Orbit G2 now, Amazon says it will be shipping them on March 19.

And for the first time you will be able to purchase just the car seat and base ($400 ). It's probably the most expensive newborn car seat available in the United States, but I have one from when I was pregnant and it is the only car seat I would use if I had a baby. As is, I use it as a sculpture in my closet, even though I should auction it off.

And if you want the stroller system but can't afford $900, Juvenile Shop has the original on sale for a slightly more affordable $699.99.

Jason: Pay up!

When I was 8 years old, my brother Jason bet me $100 that the New Kids on the Block would not be famous when I was 18 years old. Well, I'm over 18 now (just by a few years), and I just saw these guys on the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon the other night. Does this mean that Jason needs to pay up?

What to do with that NKOTB t-shirt still lingering in my dresser? Take a page out of Zoe Klutch's book and upcycle it into a clutch. This one is from her vintage collection. Does that make me vintage too?

The New Season of 16 and Pregnant

It looks like season 2 of "16 and Pregnant" is going to be even better than the first. If you thought Farrah partied too much, you will be shocked by Janelle. At least Farrah tried to be a mother. Janelle lived in Fantasyland before giving birth (She didn't realize that newborns are a lot of hard work.), and when she just kind of gave up and pawned her baby off on her mother to raise.

I am excited to watch Nikkole's episode. Here is a clip of Nikkole and her mother discussing the pregnancy.

And here is a clip of her boyfriend acting like a brat. Poor Nikkole is in pain and that jerk is arguing with her mother and his. His mom even tells him to leave. Boys like that do a lot to dispel the myth of "If I have his baby he will love me forever."

"16 and Pregnant" airs 10pm Tuesdays on MTV.

Nuit Blanche

This short film, Nuit Blanche, about love at first sight is amazingly beautiful. The style reminds me a lot of the film noir feel of Sin City, but in a charming way. But without all that violence.

Chance Combs and Sarah Chapman

Diddy tweeted this picture of his outside baby Chance, 3 1/2, and her mother, Sarah Chapman. He also tweeted a sweet message, " Like mother, like daughter! God is the greatest!" At least he doesn't bad mouth his baby mamas in the press.

But doesn't it look like she somebody has relaxed her hair. Somebody's mama needs to watch Good Hair. Get that baby off the creamy crack.

Kourtney Kardashian Still With Her Loser

With one smooch (and then another and another) in Vegas on Friday, Kourtney Kardashian and boyfriend Scott Disick put to rest rumors of the couple's demise.(All that smooching sounds like acting for the camera. Most couples of that age don't go around kissing in public that much. What are they trying to prove?)

The pair have been under fire since reports surfaced that Disick, the father of Kardashian's 9-week-old son, Mason, had been unfaithful. The rumors, Kardashian said, couldn't be further from the truth.(Am I the only one who think he looks like a douche bag from the 1980s?)

When asked if she is laughing off the rumors, she told PEOPLE exclusively, "Yes, of course. You can't take it too seriously."

"Scott is my partner and we do everything together," Kardashian said before entering Las Vegas's Jet Nightclub.(Of course he's her partner. He has to make sure she doesn't throw him to the curb because she's his meal ticket.)

And if they are in any kind of turmoil, you wouldn't know it from their visit to the club, which was hosting a fashion show by Dash, the clothing store she owns with her sisters. After strolling in hand in hand and kissing for reporters, the couple headed to a VIP table. There, they were spotted smooching throughout the night while Disick continually touched Kardashian's leg.

While in Vegas, Kardashian and Disick left Mason in the care of her family, but that didn't stop the doting mother from keeping tabs on her son via her cell phone and picture messaging.

"I'm like, 'What is he doing? What is he wearing? Send me pictures,' " she said. "I've only left him to go to dinner twice."

The First Years Wave Stroller

The First Years Wave Stroller reminds me a lot of the Mothercare Spin, except that it cost less than half the price and is available in the United States. The seat has the same swivel motion for rotating the seat from front to back. This European styled stroller (weighing just 24lbs) has higher adjustable handle, a multi-postition recline, one touch brakes, and a large storage basket. And since it fully reclines you can use it from birth as a bassinet until your tot is about 50lbs. It also will accept the First Wave Via car seat and most Chicco and Graco cars seats.  $299.99

Mom Style

I'm praying for rain. I bought a pair of neon pink Rainy Day flats from J.Crew. I intend on wearing them with a black trench coat with a polka dot lining. The pop of color is enough to brighten up the grayest of days, and I love, love, love the grosgrain bow. $55 (But it's more like $70 once you pay tax and shipping. I recommend waiting for free shipping and a sale. I just had to have them though.)

Now if only I could justify spending $129 on my dream umbrella.

Affordable Fixed Rail Crib

Crib recalls always seem to involve dropside cribs, but fixed rail cribs tend to be rather expensive. So I decided to look for an affordable yet safe crib. One of the best I have seen is the Graco Shelby crib (And it has a ton of good reviews.) This crib looks good from all angles so it can be placed in the center of the room. But the best part is that there are no moving parts so you will have one less thing to worry about. And it is available at most big box stores, and everywhere online.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Engaged

They've been together for more than three years and have two children. Now, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are planning to make it official.

"Yep. i'm engaged. Very happy. Yeah we've been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same," Madden Tweeted Monday night, after news of their plans to wed went wide. He also expressed thanks to relatives who did not let word of the engagement slip.

He Tweeted: "P.s. thats why i love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tight lipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody"

Richie said Monday night during a taping of the Late Show with David Letterman that the couple are engaged to be married, a source told PEOPLE.

After the show, Richie headed to the New York restaurant Abe & Arthurs – without her fiancé – for dinner. “She was glowing,” says a source. “She was telling her table how happy she was.”

Richie, 28, and Madden, 30, began dating in December 2006 and have daughter Harlow, 2, and son Sparrow, 5 months.

And while they've been living as a close-knit family, as recently as October Richie dashed engagement rumors. "One day I would love to get married," she said. "It's not something we're talking about right now. If my kids ask me to get married, I'd get married."

GDiapers New Baby Bundle

A few years ago when I was pregnant I wrote an email to gDiapers asking if they were ever going to make a diapering option for babies smaller than 8lbs, and got this reply:

Thank you for your email!  While we would love to offer a size for newborns smaller than 8lbs, we simply aren’t ready to take it on.  We have only been on the shelves for a little less than 2 years and don’t yet offer as many sizes as we’d like.  You may want to have another diaper option on hand for those first few pounds, but babies grow so quickly!  I’m sure the small will fit before you know it :0)

Well it looks like gDiapers has finally grown large enough to offer diapers for wee babies. The tiny gPants are designed for babies who weigh between 6 and 10 pounds. They are more like the snap in liners used on the other covers, and have words that start with g all over them. The covers fasten in the back with Velcro. There are also snaps in the front to protect tender umbilical cords.

It's nice to know that a cloth diapering company realizes that not everyone has big babies. Some of us still have tiny babies and now there is a diapering system for them.

The New Baby Bundle contains a dozen tiny gPants cover, 6 little gPants, and a case of small gRefills (160 liners).  $149.99

4. Fusion Coral
5. Tomato Puree
6. Tuscany
7. Amparo Blue
8. Pink Champagne

Funny Valentine

Hope everybody has a fun & funny Valentine's Weekend!
Don't forget that our Olive Barn giveaway ends on Monday. Catch you on the flip.

Heidi Klum's Maternity Collection Available

You can purchase the pieces from Heidi Klum's collections for A Pea In The Pod and Motherhood Maternity now. But sad to say they are only slightly better than Nicole Richie's collection. Some of the basic black pieces are nice, but nothing exciting. And a black maternity unitard for $95 is just stupid. If you're brave enough to pull off that look you can do it at American Apparel and for less. And they don't have a seam running down the center of your belly.

Mom Style

The great thing about being a mom to older children is that you have time to get dressed, and you don't really have to worry about little dirty hands. So what do I wear to run errands?

Forever21 Heritage 1981 blouse. I can't find a link online, but I just bought it. So it still should be in stores.
Gucci Denim Pencil Skirt
Vintage Lucite Purse from the 1950s. I'm really into small bags right now. I don't feel the need to lug everything I own with me.
J.Crew Pink Canvas slingbacks from last summer.

Excuse the poor picture quality. They were taken with my phone. And I didn't post about my jewelry because it's rather boring: diamond studs, a huge watch, and a religious pendant.

Come one, come all!

Last weekend I threw a big first b-day bash for my precious little girl. This was a bit of a challenge considering my commitment to not buying anything new (besides food). I started with some vintage circus inspiration and went from there...

I collected old sheets and fabric from the thrift stores and trims from an estate sale.

I made a circus tent backdrop with sheets and trim. Flag was made from a vintage wallpaper sample book from the 70's I bought at an estate sale years ago.

I put fabric backing on vintage frames and printed circus font letters on paper I already had for a bday sign. You can find the free font here.

Vintage Fisher Price circus train from my grandparents house, popcorn boxes I found in my pantry and filled with caramel corn, a vintage circus book I had and animal cracker boxes for favors (they're edible, so I figured they were ok to buy).

Little vintage trunks and suitcases made for good platforms.

After inquiring at several bakeries about a custom fondant cake and finding out that they were hundreds of dollars, I decided to make my own. This was a crazy project and took me almost a whole day, but I think it turned out pretty cute. I had to use 9 inch cake pans for all the layers because I could not buy a 6 inch pan or find anyone to borrow one from, this made it more difficult, but it is amazing what you can do with what you have. I am really learning that the solution to things isn't always buying something new. I topped it with an elephant toy and candle. For some tips on working with fondant, click here.

I made flag banners from a variety of vintage fabrics and stapled them to twine. Actually, I cannot take credit for this, my sweet Camille made these, what would I do without her?!!

Our little family. :)

First birthday cake...mmm, delicious!
