Edwardian Style Beaded Netting Shawl Capelet

Starting Bid: $49.99 (0 Bids)
S&H: $9.95
Ends: April 12, 2011; 7:14AM PST (10:14AM EST)

Okay I know this is completely out of left field, but I was oddly captivated by this when I saw it.  It just seemed so *cool*; I immediately thought that a 'real' fashionista who actually understands fashion and puts together outfits would wear this in some amazing trendsetting way.  Just to be clear, that mystical fashionista…is not me.  Thus, I am left wishing I could come up with a way to wear this, as I feel it has the potential to be totally awesome but just out of my grasp.  Ugh.

T, 4/9/11:  Ehhh . . . not so much yes on this one.  It's pretty, but the way a doily is pretty.  Or one of those medieval shields.  Do you really want to be King Arthur?

A -- 4/21/11: $56, 3 bids.  Wow.

Zara Cape Poncho

Material: 67% Wool / 19% Polyamide / 15% Angora

Current Bid: GPB21.00 (~$33.98)
S&H: GPB19.00
Ends: March 1, 2011; 12:00PM PST (3:00PM EST)

I (still) want a cape.  The combined feeling of superhero/noir detective would be such a moodlifter, even making the endless snow/rain/greyness seem appropriate.  However, I sense that I jumped on this style, much like the leopardcoat, at exactly the wrong time, and I will have to wait to happen upon some amazing deal that others will not bid up to ridiculous prices.  I guess my DickTracy/JessicaRabbit type daydreams will have to keep waiting.

T, 2/23/11:  Meh, it's just a roll of fabric . . . literally.  Like a blanket you can throw over your shoulders, meaning, it should not cost the same as a regular article of clothing, which at least requires some little Asian kid sewing/piecing it together.  You can prob DIY (eep, using cool fashion blogger lingo!).  Or, score a vtg one for cheap.

A -- 3/10/11: Sold for GBP83.98 ($136.17), 35 bids.  I mean, really?

Wool Blend Cape

Size: One Size
Material: Wool / Cotton

Buy It Now: $49
S&H: $25
Ends: Endless

So this is available in both colors - yes, I realize the redridinghoodness of the red, and the black in the "model" pictures looks all dark and pretty, but in the "reallife" pic, yet again, so gross!  Why?!  Wish it was free shipping, then this may actually be a serious contender.

T, 12/26/10:  Maybe the blk pic is due to the flash . . . weird.  If it really is kind of off, I bet a good drycleaning'll fix it, though.  I like that it's wool; it'll make it warmer.  But yeah, S&H is a lot.  Maybe you can ask seller to lower/waive S&H?  When I sold books on eBay, I had someone email me re: that, too.  (I replied if no one bid, then maybe.  Someone (i.e. the person who emailed) did, though, hehe.)   Given the price of the Zara cape, yeah, this is a decent deal.

Battle of Zara Capes

Black:
Price: $169.00
Material: 100% wool

Checked:
Price: $129.00
Material: 60% wool, 25% cotton, 14% polyamide/nylon, 1% elastane.  Leather lining

Classic vs. funky.  Heavier/warmer vs. lighter/cheaper.  Dark vs. light.  As you would say, debatedebatedebate!

T, 10/21/10:  LOL, actually like the plaid one better.  Allblk looks too wannabe superhero.  Or Zorro.  Kind of pricey for a cape though . . . it's like the cost of a coat, when it's clearly less, can't be worn as often, AND, it's zara!

A -- 10/27/10: Ok but I now have basically the entire outfit for the black one!  RR ruffly top, w/my MK snakeskinprint pants/leggings, plus, I would totally get a kick out of walking around telling ppl I decided to look like a superhero that day.  I just have difficulty spending over $100 on something that is so definitely trendy.
