I know, I know, considering how much I've bashed f21, I'm definitely eating humble pie when I bought not one, but TWO pairs, of these pants.  I came across these when f21 announced it was donating a day's worth of sales to help jpn.  So I browsed, was impressed by the cheap $9.80 price tag, realized I needed to replace my pj pants (which have copious holes), and went to the nearest f21 once I had some free time.  Website doesn't have the dark gray I bought.

I think f21 is good for ppl like you, who have an innate sense of style and can mix and match well.  Otherwise, for ppl like me, I get overwhelmed by all the choices and will most likely walk out with something uggo.  At least with nicer, simpler brands (e.g. theory), 75% of the time, it'll be something classic/classy I can't f* up.  But ehh, for less than $10, I can't complain.

Forever 21 Quilted Leather Leggings

Not real leather, not real warm, I would be much more excited about these if not for my finds of a lifetime in the same trip.  They actually look/feel/fit decent, so I'm happy.  I think I am FINALLY getting on the leggings/tights bandwagon after my first (extreeeeemely delayed) shortsovertights experience at the beach last week.  Yay?

T, 1/5/11: kind of pricey for leggings, and f21 for that matter, but I guess since they're decorative, it's okay.  Glad you lurve leggings!!!  They're waaay better than jeans, and allow us to continue wearing our [butt length] dresses/skirts into wintertime.

Clearly, this is going to be an incredibly verbose post, full of the minutea of my mood/surroundings/movements/etc when I made this purchase, but first, a more basic expression:

Okay.  So.

I cannot believe I finally have my leopard coat that I have been searching FOREVER for.  You know, if forever meant three months, one of which I wasn't actually searching for it.  Whatever.  It is just so very utterly perfect, the physical manifestation of all my leopardcoat desires.  The material, print, length, fit, even depth of color, is just all so perfect, it's like I imagined it into being.  And of course, the piece de resistance - ONLY FORTY BUCKS.  Topshop and stupid trendyEbayers bidding every leopard thing up to $200+ can SUCK IT.*

I already practically want to live in it - is it outside the realm of sanity to envision myself lounging around the house wearing a big fauxleopard coat, only partly ironically?  I don't even care that this "trend" is partly over; I shall wear/flaunt it joyously anyway, despite the heaps of derision I am almost certain I will receive from friends who (like you, T) are unused to me wearing anything quite so out there.  How funny that in the end, it was yet again Forever21 to the rescue - how did I not think to turn to my original love??  Ahh F21, I shall never forsake thee again!

*one day, I will learn to use eloquence and diction to make my point, but for now, I am too excited so ALLCAPS will have to suffice

T, 1/4/11: Dear A, I'll never doubt you again.  As we discussed, I didn't think you'd ever get your leopard, since all your ebay auctions went for $100+ for dirty, ratty things, and you held steadfast to your max.  But, you found something beautiful, soft, and perfect, for waaaay under anything you previously showed me.  If eBay didn't block bidder IDs, you should email those who bid on dirty/ratty leopards a link to this . . . it's amazing.  I am sooooo proud of you!!!  Paired w/ OTK boots, you are sooo T/E!  Def the best find of 2011; it'll be hard to top.

Well this is just a lawsuit waiting to happen, but I am firmly on Team21!  (If I could remember what site actually gathered all the blatant F21 ripoffs for sidebyside comparisons, I would send this to them)  Yes yes, copyright infringement, blahblah, I know you are incredibly passionate about this "intellectual property" Ms. von Furstenberg, but really, how can I not support a company that gives me a basically 99% markdown?!  Please continue making beautiful clothes in beautiful colors though, I still love you!  ps.  my exrmie used to be one of ur hubby's specialfriends, so that makes us practically bffs right?!

I've Run Out of "Going Out" Clothes

With my new schedule of going out til 4am 6 nights a week, I've actually started running out of "going out" clothes.  This is what guys don't understand - girl clothes are soooo specific, it is hard to be prepared for all occasions.  Whereas they can throw on a buttondown and pants for basically every possible event/situation, we have the impossible task of having to differentiate btwn clubbing vs. bar hopping vs. lounges vs. fancy dinner vs. casual dinner vs. dinner-to-night out vs. house party vs. movie night.  And that's just for post-8pm activities.  And I'm positive I'm leaving several situations out too.  Anyway, my point is, my supply of "club"wear is actually surprisingly low, I think bc I've had to throw most of it away over the years as I've matured past the "backless strapless let's just wear a slice of fabric" phase of my life.  I needed cheapo (but not too cheapo looking) club clothes, fast.  And as always, Forever21, my true love, saved the day.  

I've already worn the teal dress (it actually looks better on me than the F21 model, vain as that sounds.  But I think F21 stuff always looks a little lesser on the models, bc of they way they pose them, and bc of the bad lighting in the pics).  Wore the ring immediately too, to much love from girlfriends.  Have yet to wear the skirt, mostly bc I had to stop going out after last Friday bc I literally couldn't even think anymore.  Will be pairing it w/a loose white silk cami tucked in and slightly draped over the waist, w/either my red jimmys (more classy gorgeous), or my black fakejimmys (more rocker, given the "leather" skirt).  oOo or maybe my yellow patent jimmys.  Wow this post is really long.
