Trend Alert: Forget high-waisted jeans, trousers are the victim of this latest trend. Perfect for the office, the high-waist teamed with a tucked in white wifebeater or crisp shirt make this trend classic and simple. Now if you have no waist this look isn’t best for you. The contrast between the nipped in waist and hips is what makes this look really pop. Never fear, regular waisted pants are still in fashion and I think no one should dare wear high-waisted pants that aren’t flared. Check out Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez for inspiration… Kelis is in a world of her own. Only she could get away with those pants!

It’s that time again. It’s officially spring and the sun is starting to peek through the clouds. I’m in desperate need of some new sunglasses. I like to buy a new pair every year but I have a Jackie Onasis pair that I love to death and I'll still be rocking them this summer. Aviator sunglasses are still 'in' but they really are no hard and fast rules when it comes to sunglasses fashion. It’s much more important to find a pair that compliment your face. There is such a thing as being too beautiful you know! All the ladies above look gorgeous and while I know many of you won’t like Kelis’ outfit, I think she looks great (minus the shoes). On another note I think Beyonce’s lace-front wig deserves some type of award. It works almost as hard as she does… don’t let Bey play you!

Heatherette Spring 2007

I don’t know what to say about Heatherette’s runway show other then it must have been the highlight of many people’s day - they certainly put the fun in dysfunctional! To add to the festivities the designing duo, otherwise known as Traver Rains and Richie Rich, asked a couple of their celebrity friends to model some of their delightfully outrageous pieces. Kelis, Mya, Mena Suvari, Paris and Nicky Hilton were the main stars to note. You may not understand their collection, but you can certainly appreciate it for the original, fantastical and exciting art that it is!

The 2006 MTV Video Movie Awards occured yesterday evening, and here is the breakdown... Jlo killed that outfit with the headscarf, pure and simply! Christina's dress is show-stopping, but I've never been a fan of her bright blonde hair and red lipstick. Ciara could, and should, have tried a little harder, while Monica needs to revert back to a darker and more natural hair color. The top four ladies looked great, though Cassie should have left the necklace at home! See more pics below...

Seeing these pics makes me want to cut all my hair off! Malinda Williams looks great, can't wait to see her in 'Idlewild' which i'll be watching this weekend. I love Eva Pigford's dress although I think it may be a little too casual for the red carpet. Kelis' glasses are far too big, but in true Kelis style she's working it anyway!

Can someone explain to me what's up with this new asymmetric hair style I keep seeing?... It's very odd! I think only Rihanna gets away with it and Kelis is just being, well Kelis! Victoria has since reverted back to her long 'weave' and Cheri Dennis you're really taking it too far... It looks like your hair stylist was MAD about something! What do you all think?...

2. Nas & Kelis

This couple are too cool for school! I actually think since hooking up with Kelis, Nas has stepped his style game a notch or two, you can’t be married to such a style fanatic and stay in baggy pants and oversized T-shirts! After a two year engagement, the couple got hitched on January the 18th, 2005, making them a married couple for just over a year and a half... I wonder when they’ll bring another little style icon into the world?!

I'm a day late and a dollar short but whatever! Here are the covers for Beyonce's and Kelis' new albums. I think Kelis wins hands down... the album name matched with the image of her running away from 'the scene of the crime' are genius! Beyonce looks beautiful, but that hairstyle and her 'deer caught in headlights' stare are both starting to wear thin! Kelis' album, titled 'Kelis Was Here', will be out August 22nd, while Beyonce's 'B'day' is released September 4th... can't wait to hear them both!

Style Spotlight: Kelis

Kelis made not one, not two, but three outfit changes during her appearance at the The Summer of Soul party presented by VH1 Soul, last night in NYC. The event also had a “Kelis Was Here” VIP Concert where Kelis performed tracks from her upcoming album. Celebrity appearances at the party included Nas (duh!), Floetry, Patti Labelle, MTV's Making the Band group Danity Kane and Mario. Kelis is killing it in this outfit, she knows how to mix street style with high-fashion... she needs to share the secrets of her fabulousness!!

I don't know if I like it or not....her big, curly hair was her signature style. She is definitely loving the look judging by that picture but i'm still unconvinced, i've seen it looking a little wild at times. Anyway, I do love her new song 'Bossy', her new album "Kelis Was Here" is due to be released on August 22nd - I can't wait to hear it!

I'm a little late, but better later late then never! The BET Awards '06 took place last Tuesday, 27th June and for the most part everyone looked great although it seemed a few people were looking into 'fun-house' mirrors before they left the house (Tocorra?) Notables for me were Kelly, Kelis (loved the uniqueness of her dress) and Rhianna. Looks like Leopard print was the theme of the night (see above)... all-in-all the stars came out in force!
