A friend recently showed me a necklace that she inherited from her Great Grandmother from the 1920's. It was a pretty faint pink color and the beads were made from actual rose petals! She later emailed me a link to one she saw on Ruby Lane and I was so excited, I bought it. When it came in the mail the other day, I put it on right away. The necklace is a light lavender and came with instructions to not get it wet or it would dissolve. Such an interesting piece, I love that it is made of such delicate material and has survived so long.

What I Wore on a Dreary Wendnesday
This outfit was worn on a dreary, looks-like-Portland day here in California. The sweater and blouse I'm wearing were supposed to make it to the shop, but some of the dye bled when I was trying to clean the blouse and the sweater was just too cozy to let go.
Thanks for your responses to yesterday's post, it seems everyone loves the idea of vintage frames, but a few of you (one being anonymous, mom is that you?) think I should try a different shape. I can see what you mean, but I think a lot of it is my hair, I really need to get it cut, it's getting very heavy and flat. If you haven't seen the post, take a look and give me your feedback, I haven't made my decision yet.

If only these meant I took a trip to France.
I have collected several vintage souvenir bracelets from other people's trips to France just because I thought they were interesting. Since my wrists are kind of skinny and I do too much with my hands to worry about a bracelet catching on something, I generally don't wear them. But necklaces, I wear them everyday. So, I pulled out a variety of miscellaneous vintage chain and went to work. The result was is this little collection of souvenir necklaces. I would choose one of these over a post card any day.

Jcrew Fenton-Fallon Necklace
Remember that lovely bow bracelet I wrote about the other day, well JCrew has a very similar necklace by Fenton-Fallon. And it only costs $295, so I don't understand why the less amazing bracelet is $198. But the necklace is so pretty. Too bad it too big for my petite frame. So I will continue to wait for the bracelet to go on sale.

Tatty Devine

I just discovered a really cute line of English acrylic jewelry. Tatty Devine creates fun and flirty collection of bracelets, pendants, necklaces, and rings. I really recommend the name necklaces if you want a nameplate necklace. The acrylic makes it look totally new as opposed to the usual gold or silver.
