Thought I'd just add these in case any peekers avec peen (or general gift-givers seeking idears) stumble across our humble blog.  I doubt guys really appreciate ties as gifts -- most don't wear them everyday (esp nyex, though he can wear them ironically, since that's what wannabe hipsters do), but it's safe to have.  Guess I got the spirit of gift giving wrong, because I bought them with "me" in mind, i.e., if I were a guy, I'd want them since they're (1) vtg (I understand the gen pop might not be thrilled with this euphemism for old/used, but to me, vtg = love compounded + unique); (2) haute couture; (3) skinny/trendy enough; and (4) good material (silk as opposed to polyester).  Honestly, I'm not sure if they're real, but markings looked okay; design/quality looked good; sellers all had very high feedback and specialized in clothing; and in any case, they're all 100% silk.  Whatevs, it's the thought/gesture that counts, right?

T, 12/24/10:  Whoops, so I just learned the following.  I think most ppl know the Chinese superstition not to give ppl shoes as gifts, because that means they'll walk away.  Apparently, there are two more:  (1) giving watch = recipient is counting down the mins until the r'ship ends (funny, OG gave me hello kitty watch on our first outing, and this is kind of true!); and (2) ties = giver is "claiming" recipient.  As far as I know, I'm not marking my territory on either, and I don't want either.  Ugh.
